I received my Masters of Acupuncture degree from the Tai Sophia
Institute and my Diplomate in Acupuncture from the National
Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine
(NCCAOM), and am licensed to practice acupuncture in the State
of Maryland. I am a certified Qi Gong instructor (through the
Chan Zhang Qi Gong School), a certified Aroma Therapist
and a certified Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist.
I am a core faculty member at Tai Sophia Institute,
teaching acupuncture point location and theory, and have taught
Qi Gong in various businesses, schools and assisted living
facilities. I am
currently involved in a research project with the Veterans
Administration in Baltimore, studying the effectiveness of
acupuncture and exercise on low back pain.
In addition to my love of Chinese medicine, I am a
devoted yoga practitioner.
My post-graduate
studies have included over 125 hours a year with Jeffrey Yuen,
the world's foremost teacher of Classical Chinese Medicine.
The renowned Mr. Yuen is a
Taoist doctor and priest; 88th generation of his Taoist
lineage: Yu Ching Huang Lao Pai, (Jade Purity School, Yellow
Emperor/Lao Tzu sect), and the 26th generation of Chuan Chen
Lung Men Pai (Complete Reality School, Dragon Gate Sect).
My studies with him have included intensive training in
treatments for cancer, chronic pain, infertility, digestive
disorders and emotional conditions, using acupuncture, essential
oils, dietary therapy and qi gong.
I combine
acupuncture, essential oils and meditation techniques to help my
patients regain their natural state of health and well-being. I
have treated people with life threatening illnesses, and people
in moderate to severe pain from acute and chronic conditions.
Others have been suffering from insomnia, anxiety and
depression, or are simply seeking more ease in moving through
life.
My promise is to
partner with my patients to help their lives blossom.
